Experience of Private Proprietor of a Small Hydroelectric Plant
Article describes up to date conditions for operation of small hydroelectric plant from the point of view private proprietor and operator.

The author, one of the pioneers in the small hydroelectric plant sector, describes his experience in operation of the power plant built by him in 1990.

After the initial euphoria, he was greatly disappointed by unclear and frequently changing conditions in terms of ownership of the water course, taxation policy, lacking rules of operation of small hydroelectric power stations and more.

Moreover, the prices of power do not allow renewal and reconstruction of the power plants with resulting reduction of number of these power plants (in 1930, 11 785 hydroelectric power plants were operated in the territory of Bohemia and Moravia, in the late 1950s , there were 4 932 in operation and the current number of small hydroelectric plants in CR is approximately 1200).
