Transformation of State Water and Sewage Enterprises
Realisation of legislative plans of conceptual solution is a prerequisite for successful completion of the process. The proposed concept of transformation of state water and sewage enterprises in accordance with the Law No. 92/1991 Coll. on conditions of transfer of state property to other persons, as amended, reflects the requirement of creating an economically appropriate model for securing the supplies of drinking water, sewage and waste water treatment.

The legislation applicable for the activities of water joint-stock companies will be represented by the Constitution of the Slovak Republic, the new bill on public mains and public sewage, the law on regulation of grid industries, which should resolve the problem of prices for water, specify the scope of activities, and granting licenses for business activities. Proposed time schedule of process of preparation of the transformation.

Transformation of the state water and sewage enterprises shall be within the responsibility of the Slovak National Property Fund according to the decision of the Ministry for Administration and Privatisation of National Property of the Slovak Republic.

The Ministry of Land Management of the Slovak Republic shall be responsible for preparation of the Basic Privatisation Projects. (Source: Vodohospodársky spravodajca. - Year 44, No. 3/2001)
