The ministers signed a document – first time while the four Visegrad countries (V-4) became members of the EU. They stated, that the population of their countries will live a higher quality life in better environment, if they keep the directives of the EU.
They underlined, that their countries wish to take active and constructive part in the decisions of the EU, concerning the environment. In the future they intend to strengthen their collaboration on this field, specially, if it involves the four neighboring countries.
They were of the same opinion, that it is the common interest of the V-4 countries to greet their neighbors – Romania, Ukraine, and the West-Balkan countries – sooner or later in the EU, because their lands are tightly connected to each others environmentally.
