River Basins Evaluation of Climate Change Impact on Run-off
Effects of climate conditions on run-off conditions in river basins as a subject of mathematical modelling. In the area of impact assessment of potential climate change in our country these problems have been quite successfully addressed as part of the SR National Climate Programme and The Country Study Programme. Various methodical procedures for stipulation of the climate change impact.
Modelling of the impact of possible climate change on annual run-off distribution in our country according to the following methodology:
selection of reference period for assessment of possible climate change;
calibration of hydrological rain/run-off model for selected water basins;
establishment of reference (comparable) time chronology of average monthly waterflows by means of calibrated mathematical model;
establishment of model chronology of climatic elements for selected future perspectives by using climate change scenarios;
creation of model waterflow sequence by means of rain/run-off model based on the calibration period model parameters a model input data (modified according to climate change scenarios);
comparison of run-off differences between the model reference period waterflow sequence and the model waterflow sequence in changed climate conditions for the studied perspectives.
