The Oblast has received a US$ 12 million loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) for financing of the Project. The total project costs is estimated to be US$ 15 million. The Oblast has decided to retain external consultants to design the Project and to carry out the procurement and the monitoring of implementation of the Project.
The main objectives of the assignment shall be to:
carry out a pilot drainage project to determine a least cost drainage system, prepare technical designs and a procurement plan for the Project, carry out an environmental analysis of and prepare an environmental action plan for the Project, carry out the procurement for the Project and monitor Project implementation.
The Consultant team is expected to offer expertise and first hand experience from designing and implementing flood protection and drainage system improvement projects in conditions similar to those prevailing in Atyrau, and from working with project implementation in the CIS.
The Assignment is expected to start in May 2002 and to last approximately twelve months. The maximum available budget for this assignment is US$ 500,000.
Interested firms are hereby invited to submit expressions of interest. No eligibility restrictions apply. A shortlist of qualified firms will be formally invited to submit proposals following this invitation.
In order to determine the capability and experience of consulting firms seeking to be shortlisted, the information submitted shall include the following:
company profile, organisation and staffing; details of experience or similar assignments undertaken previously, including their locations; CVs of staff who could be available to work on the assignment. The above information should not exceed 10 pages, excluding CVs.
