In 1998, the Vienna Waterworks inaugurated the first Viennese water pipeline trail. The route leads from Kaiserbrunn to Gloggnitz as well as from Bad Vöslau to Mödling and can be comfortably completed in a two-day hike.
Water and schools
On prior appointment, the Austrian Museum for Social and Economic Affairs is happy to take its travelling exhibition on Vienna’s water supply to schools. Depending on the kids’ age, two different shows are offered. This service by the Vienna Waterworks is supplied free of charge for schools. A staff member of the Museum for Social and Economic Affairs accompanies the exhibition to speak about Vienna’s water supply and moreover informs the youngsters about the precious resource that is water.
For primary schools, the Vienna Waterworks also offer a free folder for lessons in class.
