With its 460,000 customers evn wasser is the water supplier ranking second in Austria (following Vienna Waterworks - Municipal Department 31). The supplied area covers large parts of Lower Austria, in particular the Weinviertel, the Southern Vienna Basin, the Tullnerfeld with the Dunkelsteinerwald, and the Waldviertel.

Drinking water is stored in 74 different overground and underground storage reservoirs of a total capacity of 190,000 m3. The valuable resource gets distributed via transport pipes of an overall length of 1,400 km.

Being a transregional supplier, evn wasser has so far been operating outside the municipality borders only. Local networks themselves would be established and operated by municipalities and cooperatives. evn wasser operates above all in those areas of Lower Austria where municipalities alone are unable to cope with the responsibility of supplying the population with drinking water.

As an assistance to municipalities, evn wasser also offers them the construction and the operation of wastewater treatment facilities. The excellent know-how evn experts can offer is being utilised also with respect of individual projects on neighbouring markets. A daughter company of the evn wasser Ges.m.b.H. has recently been granted operating licence for drinking water supplies and wastewater drainage for six municipalities located south-east of Budapest.

The team:
Currently, evn wasser employs a staff of 55. There are 23 persons working at the headquarters in Maria Enzersdorf who deal with planning, site management and operations, as well as with administration and accounting.
