With its research project on the "Management of sensible water uses with the help of innovative sensor technology", the City of Vienna has assumed a pioneering role in the development of new monitoring station technology. Vienna's partners in the project, which is supported by the EU's LIFE Programme, are the Marchfeld Canal Development Company and the University of Agricultural Sciences, Vienna.
