 HDD-Practice Handbook

In recent years, the US term "Horizontal Directional Drilling" (HDD) has become widely adopted at international level to address controlled horizontal drilling techniques.

This technology, originally developed in California, was first introduced in Europe in 1986 as "controlled horizontal flush drilling technique". This illustrative booklet outlines the essential characteristics of HDD technology and provides examples of its potential uses, such as in a context with trenchless pipe installations.
