 The traffic of goods on the trans-European road networks continues to grow undampedly. Relief could be found in a transport route already used in primeval times – the waterways. Thus, after the end of the military conflicts in Yugoslavia, the Danube and its ports in particular might look forward to a golden future. At the same time, passenger traffic is an essential element of a comprehensive leisure programme on the river.
