Its acquisition of 1.JVS based in Budweis, Czech Republic in August has boosted the company’s turnover beyond the 100-millioneuro threshold, making it Austria’s biggest private service provider in the water and wastewater sector!

1.JVS, previously held by Veolia Voda Cz, is responsible for the water management infrastructure in Budweis and some other 100 regional communities (together 220,000 inhabitants). It operates 38 wells and water conditioning plants, 2,400 km of water supply and sewage piping and 69 sewage plants. 1.JVS has 330 employees and achieves an annual turnover of more than 30 million euros.

Entering the Czech market in 2004, Energie AG meanwhile ranks third in the country behind the French companies Veolia and Ondeo. Energie AG lays much emphasis on its success in South Bohemia and is hoping to generate many synergies between 1.JVS and VakJC, which supplies a population of 330,000. Further acquisitions and the market entry in Hungary in 2007 have earned the company nearly one million customers!
