Apart from building and operating a large number of hydropower plants of all sizes, the company also offers a range of interesting services to other operators of small hydropower (SHP) plants. operators of small hydropower (SHP) plants. The latest product released by Salzburg AG is a “market-based pricing scheme”, where energy trading experts act as agents on behalf of numerous Austrian power plant operators, selling the energy they produce in the open electricity market and at the European Energy Exchange (EEX). This provides an interesting alternative to the subsidies provided for in the Austrian ecoelectricity law.
Our service is available to operators of old, rehabilitated, and new small hydropower plants. As subsidy rates are graded, the annual average of mandatory tariffs may be lower than the current market price. Despite the recent slump in electricity prices on the stock exchange, we are still able to successfully sell the fed-in energy from 300 Austrian hydropower plants independent of the rate of subsidies!
