 Water Event
 WASSER BERLIN INTERNATIONAL (2 – 5 May 2011)

Booking levels high for WASSER BERLIN INTERNATIONAL 2011 Exhibitors can still book space at short notice even after the official closing date for registration on 15 October!

WASSER BERLIN INTERNATIONAL is the meeting place for the water industry from all over the world, and its combination of trade fair and accompanying congress for water and waste water links theory and practice in the most effective way possible. Water is an economic factor of paramount importance. The demand for clean water and for reliable water supplies and waste disposal facilities is increasing all the time. This applies equally to drinking water, water for industry and waste water. This event is of particular commercial significance on account of Berlin's location in both an economic and a geographical sense, and its proximity to the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and to the newest member countries of the EU in particular.

More than half a year before the event, the organisers of WASSER BERLIN INTERNATIONAL, the leading European trade fair focusing exclusively on water issues, are able to give already a very positive initial assessment. To date, more than 300 exhibitors have registered and have booked 11,000 square metres of display space, equalling the high figures for the last event. This is a remarkable achievement, since WASSER BERLIN INTERNATIONAL is now taking place at bi-annual intervals, as opposed to every three years. Development cycles are becoming ever shorter, so this change was necessary to let the industry exchange information even more rapidly and to specifically meet the challenges posed by water becoming an increasingly important topic. Not least it was WASSER BERLIN INTERNATIONAL's aim to set an example in an events world that is undergoing change.

Cornelia Wolff von der Sahl, the Messe Berlin project manager of this event, is confident: “The numbers are proof that even with exhibitors’ limited resources and with lively competition among trade fairs, it is impossible to ignore WASSER BERLIN INTERNATIONAL. Visitors interested in finding out about the latest technologies and in meeting an expert international audience cannot afford to miss next year's event in May in Berlin. With that in mind we are confident that even under new conditions we can continue where we left off at the last event, with high numbers of exhibitors and visitors." In April 2009 more than 34,000 trade visitors and over 700 exhibitors from 79 countries attended the 13th WASSER BERLIN.

As in previous years exhibitors can still rent out space at short notice even after the official closing date for registration. Due to high demand the organisers say it may not be possible to fulfil every request for a particular size of space or for a desired hall allocation.

According to Messe Berlin the ongoing conceptual development of the event is the main reason for this positive trend, generating a significant added value for exhibitors and trade visitors alike. Thus WASSER BERLIN INTERNATIONAL is attracting even more participation from abroad, and has even more information to offer, at the International NO DIG for example, the leading trade fair for trenchless pipeline construction. It is also the first time that the accompanying congress programme will be jointly organised by all the relevant specialist organisations, a move which reflects the special affinity with the market and guarantees a focus on the latest topics.

The first WASSER BERLIN congress and accompanying exhibition took place in 1963. Since then the goal of the event has been to comprehensively discuss the topic of water along with all its diverse aspects, and to create an international platform for an exchange of views. This is the basis upon which WASSER BERLIN INTERNATIONAL has built and continues to build its standing.
