The single-purpose water work on the river Slatina in rkm 41.1 closely below the mouth of the river Hukava, the right-side tributary from the Polana hill, was built during the years 1960-1965 as a surface source for the group water main between the villages of Hrinova – Lucenec – Filakovo (H – L – F).
The main objects of the water work are the water reservoir, the dam built of cast soil and stone, the functional objects of the dam, and the water treatment station.
The water reservoir ensures the net consumptions for the H – L – F by the value of Qn = 0.300 m3.s_1, and the gross improved flow, comprising in addition to the net consumptions, also Qmin = 0.100 m3.s_1. The total volume of the reservoir was determined as Vc = 8.2 mio. m3.
The cast dam is built of local materials in a morphologically suitable –symmetric profile of the „U“ share, with the ratio L/H5.
The functional facility of the dam consists of the bottom outflow, consumption equipment, and side overflow. The side overflow situated on the left side of the dam has the overflow area parallel with the dam axis. It is blocked by a valve. The overflow field 12.0 m wide and dam top 2.3 m high has the capacity of 90 m3.s_1. The valve may have remote control.
The consumption equipment consists of a submerged tower object allowing etage consumptions from two levels. The consumption piping with Ø 600 mm leads from the consumption tower in a communication channel together with the piping of the bottom outflow.
The bottom outflow has the capacity of 62.0 m3.s_1 at maximum height and it is built of steel piping Ø 2000 mm. On the water side, its has a glass closure, and in the outflow it has a spraying closure.
