 Exploitation of Rivers and Mining Waters in Zlata Idka Mines
Favourable hydrologic conditions and also the hydrogeologic conditions and morphology of the terrain in the region around the village of Zlata Idka anabled maximum exploitation of the water power since the 14th century. Exploitation and application thereof reached the top in the 19th century when this area was managed by local authorities and water became the main source of energy, serving for direct driving of mechanisms until suspension of the mining activities in the first decades of the 20th century.
