By means of the joint presentation in the form of this new platform the 40 prominent domestic environmental and development organisations expect to exert greater influence on the Austrian Federal Government, which they accuse of being lazy as to the implementation of the Rio objectives, but also to create a new quality of commitment with regard to the fight against poverty and to the protection of resources.
Johanna Mang (CARE Austria): "These topics are so closely linked to each other that only joint action guarantees sustainable solutions.” One of the first actions was the drafting of an 11-item Catalogue of Demands and its submission to the Federal Ministers Ferrero Waldner and Molterer.
