Active coal filters in the form of mats, that can be cut to size for any purpose, are the trademark of Thomas Eichenauer’s one-man business Öko-Tex. Simple to handle, the mats can be excellently used in environmental protection, for waste water or air treatment, or in the building industry.
The three-layer mats consist of two flat connected fleeces, with the filter material - active charcoal - being welded in. At the same time, the fleeces function as pre-filters. Nevertheless, the active coal filling – up to five kilos per square metre - has the main cleansing function. (Source: aqua press Int. 2/2000)
