The Slovak Water Management Enterprise, s.p., Banska Stiavnica manages:
28,676 km of the total length of 49,775 km river network, including 7,617 km of adjusted rivers, 2,895 km of protection dams which protect the territory in the area of 5,764 km against 10- and more year water, 217 weirs which enable regulation of discharge from the territory, irrigation system which enable irrigation of 314,650 hectars of soil, 54 water reservoirs, including 47 multipurpose water reservoirs, with average annual production of 4,488 GWh electric energy, representing 20 % of the total annual production in Slovakia, while the exploited hydroenergetic potential is only 58 %. In the year 1998, the Slovak Water Management Enterprise supplied 722 million cubic meters of ground water (decrease by 8.1 %). Information & Contact:
