Under the professional guidance of Hermann Hyden and Otto Sohm, a 500 square metre near-natural rivulet landscape was created for this purpose on the Tummelplatz of Graz, showing the "water course" beginning at the catchment of a mountain torrent down to the lowlands of the Styrian hills in a 1:1 model. About 140,000 visitors used the opportunity to experience the many different aspects of the element water, e.g. as a habitat for fish species, as field of bio-engineering measures or as a basis for human life (water quality analysis) – and all that right in the city centre!
