Agent 007 Also Likes Green Technologies

The brain drain resulting from espionage, cooperations and contracts also affects the clean-tech industry. Yet this threat still receives far too little attention

As a country relying on exports, Austria has worked hard in recent decades to build a reputation in the green and clean-tech sector. With the Master Plan Environmental Technology (MUT), our nation aims to prolong this success story and further raise its export quota.

While only little attention is being paid to intellectual property rights, option agreements and contractual loopholes, these issues also affect the green-tech industry. They have the potential to keep companies from going global and make them stay in their traditional environment.

The Austrian Clean Technology Competence Centre (ACT), which was founded in 2008 with a view to implementing the MUT, has also been confronted with those challenges and wants to make domestic companies aware of the problem.

ACT kicked off its information campaign in April with an interesting expert dialogue on international business security.
