Poloplast Invests € 20 Million in Leonding Plant

Poloplast, a leading global manufacturer of plastic pipe systems for water supply, sewers, building services and compounds, continues on its strong growth path.

After investments into a new logistics centre (€ 5.3 million in 2009), modern manufacturing facilities and labs (€ 3.5 million in 2010), additional capital shall now flow into research and development and into novel extrusion and injection moulding machines.

As Poloplast’s Technical Director Jürgen Miethlinger announces, the company also wants to intensify its engagement in R & D activities through collaboration with universities and applied science colleges. Miethlinger himself heads the Institute of Polymer Extrusion and Building Physics at Johannes Kepler University Linz.

"Our investments will be exclusively financed from cash flow and apportioned across the years 2011 to 2015", says Managing Director Wolfgang Lux. This seems like a realistic goal, considering that the manager expects to maintain last year’s high sales of € 75 million also in 2010. The company’s sales target for 2015 is even € 120 million and in urban water management shall be achieved through the sale of high-quality multilayer pipes, where the company is already a technology leader.
